I think we will still need them, but they won't serve the same purpose. Instead of being the only way to find out how everyone else is doing, they'll serve as catalysts to meet up with friends you might have fallen out of touch with.

Eh, mine came around last year, but I did not have the cash on hand to go, but when I checked out the guest list, I noticed I did note that the only people who were attending who I actually had an interest in seeing I was keeping up with anyway, so I just kinda blew it off.

My dad really only started going to high school reunions after reestablishing loose contact with people over the internet (Facebook, classmates.com). So maybe? Probably? Personally, I'm still tightest with my high school friends as I'm about to graduate from college. So with that in mind, I can foresee a future where I don't need a reunion to get in contact with people I care about. But that's just me.
