Hey y'all, I hope this doesn't count as spamming, but I saw this on LUE and thought to repost. Basically it's a "pay whatever you feel like" for five indie games, and they split your donation between Child's Play and the developers. Of the five, I've only played World of Goo, which I <3ed, and apparently Aquaria is the best thing ever, although I can't swear to it one way or another. .

Anyway, here's the link: http://www.wolfire.com/humble

Willis, it seems like every other time you post, I need to look up a word that's in the OED or Urban Dictionary but not both.

Argh.... I don't do online credit card stuff.... Why can't I apply my Amazon gift card balance? That's probably more a problem with amazon, though.

I thought I saw upon the stair a little man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today. Oh how I wish he'd go away.

Bought this last night and posted the same topic in a different forum. Very worth it. I've only played World of Goo so far, which is great, yes, and I'm looking forward to trying out the rest.

Aquaria's okay. It sort of reminds me of Ecco the Dolphin except movement's *slightly* more enjoyable. I'm only ~30 minutes in, but I wouldn't write home to mother about it. I assume it gets awesome, though, based on what the LUE folk were saying.

But yeah, <3 World of Goo.

Okay, Aquaria's gotten to the point of being "neat" with only a little bit more playtime than before. Also, I started Penumbra, but **** that game, I'm about ten minutes in and I'm terrified of most things.

Hmm... Something I noticed which may interest you programming types: http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2010/05/humble-indie-bundle/

If this raises over $1,000,000 they're going to release the source code for three of the games. They don't have much time left, but they've surpassed $900,000, so who knows?

They did it! Ransomware is pretty cool, or at any rate, it's surely a better way to make money off of software than the usual means. I note that in the case of the one program that has already been freed, the "game data" remains proprietary. But engines are more useful than 3D models or the like, anyway.
