So I've been posting even more sporadically than usual here so I figured that this would be a good time to update everyone on what's been going on with me recently. And I encourage everyone else to do the same.
I graduated from the University of Washington last June with a BA in Communication. I was chosen to give a speech at the Filipino American Graduation ceremony a couple weeks before the big graduation. Probably one of the prouder moments in my life.

I worked for an educational outreach unit over the summer as a Lead Counselor for a summer outreach program where we brought high school students from all over Washington to the UW so they can experience a taste of college life. Following those programs, I took on temporary work with the department, part time. Two weeks ago, I got hired full time by that department. I now create and facilitate workshops for high school students all centered around topics of college readiness. It's a great job and despite my grumbling about how there's nothing for me to do sometimes, I really do enjoy it.
Also, I managed to overcome the stereotype that degrees in Communication are useless and will never find me a job.
I also volunteer for and advise another high school outreach group that's more Asian-interest in the Seattle area. I love these kids to death and, most importantly, they can Hadouken on command:

This is just the guys. There are girls in the program, too. Half of them didn't know what I was talking about when I made a Power Rangers reference a few weeks ago. Made me feel old.
I've been singing a lot more, especially with my friends.

Sometimes I sing by myself, but my friends back me up anyway.

The guy playing the uke in that video is one of my best friends from college. He recently revealed to me (and the rest of our friends) that he will be leaving to joined the armed forces in January. I don't think the realization that I won't be seeing him on a regular basis for a long time has hit me yet.
I moved back in with my parents to save money for the future. I'm hoping to get out on my own again in about a year.
PMS is the only group of people I can say I've shared a graduation from every major level of education I've experienced thus far (finishing 8th grade, high school, and now college). That's pretty special, right?
But yeah, that's what's going on with me. I read the board at work on my iPod but don't usually respond to things. I think I should change that. Gotta post from my iPod too, though.
