And I really don't know why.

I enjoy singing in any case. I always have. You know those propeller planes that you ride instead of a jet if you take a very short commercial flight? The noise of the propellers lets you sing at moderate volume without your seatmate noticing. You can't hear it, either, but somehow I find the sensation of singing more important than the sound of it.

If f_n is continuous on [a, b] for all n, (f_n(x)) is nonincreasing for each x, and (f_n) goes pointwise to a continuous f, then (f_n) goes to f uniformly.
I also enjoy singing.

What are your karaoke standards? If it's available, I try to go for More Than Words or Man in the Mirror.
And of course, Don't Stop Believin'.

Celine Dion songs are surprisingly fun. Especially the one that breaks down with "baby, baby, baby". I can only really karaoke in a group setting though, like with cordless mics passing through the crowd. I hate being up on stage.

I enjoy infusing the event with the power of mid-90s hits, so yesterday included All Star and Semi-Charmed Life

I'm a big fan of the mid-90s hits as well; however, these two are my group's karaoke classics as well:
