But I suppose that is only true when bringing together two diverse sets of family/friends. Obviously disjoint sets of family will still happen (otherwise, ew), but if they have the same friends that's a plus.
I'm sort of under the impression that if the couple has been together long enough, their main group of friends will have already converged, so there might not be as many 'extraneous' friends to have to double-buy for.
