That's ridiculous!

And out here in frosty Meadville, Pennsylvania, it's zero degrees Fahrenheit!

Hahahahaha. I hope you never live in Minnesota.

Celsius? On MY PMS?
No, but seriously, Fahrenheit for the weather is one of the few situations that makes the imperial system look good, 'cause the size of the unit is more useful for the range of values you're likely to encounter.

Willis, it seems like every other time you post, I need to look up a word that's in the OED or Urban Dictionary but not both.

Pffft. I laugh at your -14 degrees C. Right now it's not as bad as that. It's 20 degrees Fahrenheit here in IL, but with windchill it feels like 10 (about -12 Celsius). HOWEVER, I do recall school being canceled for like 2 or 3 days in a row a few years ago due to the bitter, bitter, BITTER cold. They didn't want people to go outside because (although I don't remember what the actual temperature was) with the windchill it was 40 below 0 Fahrenheit (which is also equivalent to 40 below 0 Celsius). School was canceled Wednesday through Friday that week, and I stayed in my apartment almost an entire week without leaving (Tuesday Night through Monday morning). I raised the heat up, played lots of video games, had lots of food delivered (this was back when my mom was still okay with me being unemployed and filled up my bank account for me because I was in school >.>), got lots of sleep, and caught up on all my homework. Life was good, except for the potential of death if you went outside for more than 15 minutes.
Edit: I was going to make a new post to correct something I posted above, and then I remembered about post editing. Woooo!

Aren't you in New York, or are you away? Is that really ridiculous? I assumed the temperatures over there are roughly equivalent to Michigan's.

Last night around 1 I had to get something CVS, and according to weather.com it "felt like" it was -4 Fahrenheit. And now it's saying it'll be 40 tomorrow. Weird.

It's not really that ridiculous, when I thought about it (and converted to Fahrenheit), but it is the coldest it's been so far this winter.

Yeah, that's ridiculously warm in Minnesota. Although we're -3 at the moment, somehow...

We don't get the lake effect though. Whatever that is.
I guess we get the sea effect?

The lake effect plays a big role in western Michigan, where the snow dumps heavily as the wind blows in from over Lake Michigan. But on the east side it is not as bad.
