It can't be much worse than my ex-boyfriend like stalking me....

I'm either mistaken, or AMan means that college will be much better for you. To my experience, and popular consensus of those I know, college is far superior to high school. Largely just because of the age difference, but also because of increased diversity of people. If cliques and gangs form in high school, they are quite absent in the world of college.
Some sort of responsibility is also instilled in kids at college, and the cool kids are the ones who do their work and take charge of their lives.

Well it all began with me breaking up with my boyfriend about a month or so ago..doing that was bad enough but now he keeps going on about how i'm his only friend in the world and how he will never truly be happy again. And the most recent thing he has been doing is basically saying if I hang with any guys or talk to them he will more or less stalk me. I feel super lonely and I want to at least start to try communicating with guys, but he won't let me...

You gonna come to Iowa or should I send him to you?

Hm, that is troubling. I suggest taking a firm stance and saying "dude, back off, this is mad creepy."
The important thing is to be firm: you are not responsible for his happiness, and he has no right to impede yours.

Willis, it seems like every other time you post, I need to look up a word that's in the OED or Urban Dictionary but not both.

If he's serious about the stalking part, you may want to sic the relevant authorities on him immediately rather than trying to talk sense into him first.

Oh, in-f***ing-deed it is. But I'd say there's just as much if not more drama. But not petty drama. Like, the life stuff that's actually kind of fun.
Also, guy sounds like a total d*****.

Well, let him know that if he makes good on the stalking bit, you'll let a school whatever know (guidance counselor, principal, whatever). Put a little fear of God into the guy (having been a dramatic high school student, I can tell you that the threat of actual consequences for your actions can be quite head-clearing).
I'd recommend against going straight off the bat (schools can be kind of zealous with that sort of thing) but that said, the second you feel threatened, don't hesitate.

Any teacher who happens to teach a class you're both in, or any guards your school employs, or the principal.

1. Purchase a bear trap. http://www.amazon.com/15-Grizzly-Bear-Trap/dp/B00021UX68 (Note: check if this is legal in your state first)
???
3. No more stalker.
4. Profit!
Seriously though, definitely talk to him and make it perfectly clear that it's over between you. If he doesn't listen or if that's too hard to do, take it to school authorities. Stalking is serious business.
And yes, in my experience college is far, far less dramatic than high school. Though that might be me avoiding all drama now after getting so much or it in high school.

Hm, yeah. Here nalabell. Take this quote. "Man is free at the moment he wishes to be." Voltaire, I think. That means no one has the right to get you down if you don't want them to. You'll always be a slave if you don't want to be free. And the moment you decide to be free, you can be. It's seriously that simple.
That doesn't mean you won't face the consequences, of course (if you decide you're free to disobey the law there may be penalties for it) but I don't think we need to worry about that.
So whoever this creep is, he has no right to push you around or control your life. You are free, independent, and individual in your own right, and your destiny is in your hands. Don't let him play with it- clearly he's a huge loser incapable of controlling even his own life, let alone yours. Take charge of your life, aggressively if you have to, and tell authorities, or tell him, but don't wait for it- do it as soon as you're in school. We're going to ask you on Friday how the situation stands, so make something of it!
