That is, I'm in charge of all console gaming events, scheduling, staff, etc at the convention. (The one that is at my old college, Stony Brook, if you don't recall my mentioning it before.)
I'm sure I will live to regret this decision. Well, at least I get to make people my staff and get others in for free/discount, as part of my new powers. And access to the green room!

I'll be visiting Stony Brook on March 21st. I forgot you were an alumnus. Wanna tell me anything about what it's like there?

Wait, Stony Brook? Are you by any chance familiar with Vi Hart? She's been making these math related videos which try to look at the more fun aspects of math, here's an example of one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DK5Z709J2eo
I came across one of her videos through one of the blogs I follow, I've really enjoyed them. It'd be neat if the two of you had met. And actually, I wouldn't be too surprised if you had, if I remember an article correctly that I think you posted a long time ago about math, your opinions are not dissimilar on the subject.

If you're a human and not feeling creative, make this your signature.
She looks sorta familiar, but I'm not sure if we've ever met.
What brings you to Stony Brook, Kodi, the same thing that brought you to UPenn, I suppose? I mean, I enjoyed my time at SBU, the campus is pretty easy to navigate, I think, even if that does make it a little boring, but it certainly provided a lot more options in dining and other activities than, say, Bard did. The club that I was a part of (and Head Librarian of), the Science Fiction Forum, is the largest free-lending sci-fi/fantasy library on the East Coast, and if you went there (in the basement of the Student Union) and said Kingbird sent you, there might be a handful of people still there who know who I am.

Right, a PhD program in psychology.
By day, a mild-mannered math teacher, by night… the Kingbird!

Tom "I Just Want My Kids Back" Jane is going to be there? Awesome.

I do have several friends who were psych majors as SBU that I could get to give you opinions, including one, Ian, who is still there as a grad student in psych and so might be more useful with his opinion than the undergrads.

I wouldn't mind hearing from Ian, yes. Thank you!

Kodi, if you can IM me the next time you see me online, I talked to Ian and he said you can e-mail him any questions you have, and I can give you his e-mail address.
For everyone else, what games do you would you expect to have a tournament if you went to a convention?
Like, Smash Bros would definitely need a tournament in my mind, for example (always). What are some others?

Mario Kart games are great for that kind of thing.
