I very much like this poem: http://www.poeticportal.net/content/view/1595/29/ and think that a ring with "Even this shall pass away." on it would be very cool. As a side note, how much do engravings cost?

I would recommend the more familiar phrasing "This too shall pass".

"Monads are easy. Think of them as burritos."
Nah Spock, I think that's cool. I have a friend with a "This too shall pass" tattoo and an engraved ring is pretty similar.
Also, I really like the poem, AND, I really like the quote on the side of the page: ""The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother." ~ Theodore Hesburgh
I kept reading "this too shall pass" as "you shall not pass" and was confused. But hey, if you like it, go for it.

Aye. I think "this too shall pass" is an old Persian proverb, from the middle ages, which probably this poem is based on. Some fables have it that the king wished for a ring which could make a happy man sad and a sad man happy, and was given the ring engraved with "this too shall pass"
Great poem you have there, and a great quote also.

I dunno, I feel like "This too shall pass" doesn't have quite the same connotation was "Even this shall pass away." Maybe because that common phrasing is most often said in response to bad things, while in the poem both good and bad shall pass.

I associate "this too shall past" really explicitly with the holocaust for some reason. I think it was used a lot in Maus?

Willis, it seems like every other time you post, I need to look up a word that's in the OED or Urban Dictionary but not both.

I think it was, now that you mention it.
