Hmmm, I wonder if people who played SM64 as their first 3D game prefer inverted Y due to exposure to the swimming mechanics...

Mario 64 was probably my first 3D game experience, and I prefer a standard Y-axis for first person shooters. I do like it inverted for most other things, though.

I got hooked on Inverted Y-Axis from all the time I spent playing flight sims (Star Wars, mostly). I guess it just stuck for everything else - especially FPS.

Same. I'm pretty sure flight sims made it so I always use inverted y. I also feel like inverted y was more standard back in the day.
