I'm considering entering a poem in a poetry contest but i don't know if I should enter one of these poems or write a new one.

1.
"Moving forward"

A heart is shattered and the world moves on.
A child weeps on the streets and the world moves on.
A country starves and we ALL move on.
We mask our faces from these events...
We say we are moving forward...but are we really?
Have our hearts softened?
Have our pockets loosened?
OR
have our hearts been beaten into cold rigid diamonds and
our pockets hold a death grip on every last cent we possess?
Do we help our neighbors
OR
do we spit in their faces?
Most will read this and forget it soon after, but the ones who chisel
these thoughts into their brains instead of dismissing them
ARE
the only ones who can truly move forward.

2.
The hope of an innocent heart

Some fancies are like an infant rose. At first they are soft, beautiful, and sweet, but then as time moves on you see how truly momentary their appeal was. Roses like most things in life are short lived and forgotten quickly, but I still wait with hope filling my heart to the brim that someday I will find my endlessly youthful rose.

3.

A sly black shadow claws its way to the surface. It creates chaotic terror for all who encounter it. The story of the pure water has long been forgotten. The oil now bleeds into the ocean out of a crack. In a very similar way it now seeps into a dolphin's blowhole or a bird's wing. The devastation is massive. The people now search frantically for a panacea to dampen their guilt.

4.
Soft as satin a smell sweeter than life itself. Blood red, sun kissed yellow, angelic white ,blushing pink, and sunset orange paint the petals of this delicate being. Its petite bud stretches open hoping its beauty will be known. As the petals fall and crumple its elegance withers with it. It clings to the hope that its perfume will compensate for its vulgar appearance. The desolate remainder of this creature lays on the ground before being swept away by the wind.
