Oh, Wallace was awesome. He was really funny and made a lot of the humor. I liked the part where they're at the house, and Scott says about going under the blanket. Then she goes, "What about the tea?" And he says, "We don't have to drink tea." That was gold!

I was thinking about trying out the video game, but I doubt it'll be as good as the movie. Ah, well...

Fan-f******-tastic movie. I was laughing my a** off the entire time. Every time I see it I wanna date a hipster...

From what I've seen of the game, it's a 2D sidescrolling fighter. I dunno how else to explain it, but the second you see what I'm talking about you'll know what I mean. Think the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games or those old Marvel/DC Heroes games.

I've enjoyed the movie with diminishing returns. I thought it was hilarious and great the first time through but for some reason less so on rewatchings.

The game is a sidescrolling beat-em-up that's pretty good but moreso when you're playing multiplayer. Also I think me and my friend were playing it wrong because we kept going through the levels easily enough but the bosses would kick our butts.

The game is pretty good. All forms of Scott Pilgrim are great (comic/movie/game).

Kylo, did you and your friends remember to up your stats at the stores in the shopping district? Leveling up only gets you new moves, you need to buy Books/CDs to up your stats and get stronger.

It's was a pretty sweet movie. I have no interest in reading the comics (graphic novels?) or anything like that, but I really did enjoy it.

And I hate hipsters.

Side note, what is meant by "hipster"? It's like the new "emo" in terms of how much I seem to hear it thrown around lately, and just when I think I get it, it seems to be used in a way that doesn't make sense with my previous understanding.

Being a hipster is about what I call the economy of obscurity: that is better inherently what is to base perception less common. And from this postulate, we can derive all of what it is to be a hipster: its cause of the lust for unknown indie music is apparent, and so to for the fashions of bygone eras and terrible arrangements of facial hair.

In essence, shop in a thrift store and listen to music no one has ever heard of.

To me, 'hipster' is all about embracing the 'It's popular, now it sucks' mentality. But I'm sure there are other facets to it.

Nah, it's basically just that and its inverse.

There's also a strange group-belonging-dynamic, which is that popular things that other hipsters like are safe, although things that are popular with neither hipsters nor anyone else are still most prized.

I read this a while ago. It's a little dense, and I'm not even sure what the conclusion was, but I remember it being interesting.

Also, Scott Pilgrim is an awesome movie/comic. This topic just convinced me to play the game, too.

I think the general mentality of a hipster is that doing anything "popular" (listening to popular music, dressing in the latest fashion, etc.) means that you're a sheep with no individual taste. Therefore, by hipster logic, one must listen to bands no one's ever heard of, wear random clothes, and wear big hipster glasses.

A common stereotypical phrase coming from a hipster would be something like "I listened to that band BEFORE they got popular and sold out." The line is usually said with a mixture of pride and disgust.
