Take a look at each of these images and guess what proportion of the area is black.

You aren't trying to create psychological profiles of us in subtle ways, are you? :P But in all seriousness, I wouldn't mind hearing about the experiment at some point.

All numbers are percentages.

No tricks here. I'm just thinking of using these pictures as a way of conveying probability information. I hope to use a probability format (a) that transparently represents exact numbers and (b) that people are pretty good but not great at interpreting.

How close did I get? (You can message me if you don't want anyone to accidentally see the true numbers).

Because I want to directly convey the probability of a gamble while still allowing enough room for interpretation that experimentally induced bias can reveal itself. The manipulation I'm thinking of currently (lifted practically wholesale from Ditto, Pizarro, Epstein, Jacobson, & MacDonald, 2006) is adjusting the vividness of the good outcome of the gamble, the opportunity to eat freshly baked cookies, by presenting either a line drawing of cookies, a color photograph of cookies, or some actual cookies when explaining the outcome.

Ditto, P. H., Pizarro, D. A., Epstein, E. B., Jacobson, J. A., & MacDonald, T. K. (2006). Visceral influences on risk-taking behavior. Journal of Behavioral Decision Making, 19, 99–113. doi:10.1002/bdm.520. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/bdm.520/abstract
