I mean, on the one hand, it's nice to save money. On the other hand, it's really cold.

How low does it get before it turns back on?

It doesn't turn back on? He turns the thermostat down to the bottom, which I think is 50. The apartments then usually drops to 60ish, I think.

Ugh, yuck. I wouldn't tolerate less than 66. My mom, I know, does 62 in winter nights though and probably did when I was growing up too, because I remember not feeling warm unless I had like 3 comforters.

There was a while when I was in Canada that I didn't know how to turn my thermostat on, and indeed thought it was on. The rooms had little individual radiators, which I also did not realize, so I figured since my roommate (a Californian) was okay with it, it must just be a thing I need to get used to.

Willis, it seems like every other time you post, I need to look up a word that's in the OED or Urban Dictionary but not both.

Sounds like my roommate from college...

My best suggestion is to save the money and just use blankets! It'll pay off in the spring when you have a little extra in your wallet!
