Kickstarter

Man, I think this is an awesome website. I recently backed the Order of the Stick drive, which is now the #2 drive of all time (but will be #3 once the Double Fine one finishes), and I feel like it's a good democratization of industry, especially with the "you won't get charged unless they reach 100% backing) thing, so you can be more confident about what you are investing in.

What do you guys think of it? Ever backed anything?

One could imagine adding a "Paper" category where the finished product is some kind of research report. Or a "Data" category where the product is the raw data. Perhaps, in practice, one could abuse "Publishing".
