Yeah. Is it just me or is there more hatred for this holiday this year than previously? Like 30 Rock had some pretty scathing things to say, and in general it seems to be "ugh this again" more than anything else. (Though this might be because I'm (a) in my mid-20s now and vomiting in the street binge-drinking is so 3-5 years ago and (b) actually living in NYC where contempt for people showing up just to drink trumps pretty much everything.)

I've never cared for St. Patty's Day, myself, and have always held some disdain for it.
Not even because it's an excuse for binge-drinking. That's fine. But because of the zealotry that people have for this binge-drinking day, and the hypocrisy they have in celebrating their "Irish heritage". Anyone who grew up in Ireland before the '90s would tell you all the bars were closed on St. Patrick's Day.

I honestly have never associated St. Patrick's day with drinking. In my head, it was all about my elementary school leprechaun traps, and how I'd get chocolate coins for my effort.
If I think about it, pretty much every holiday at the time was memorable because of candy.
