My perspective is admittedly biased, as I'm still a bit sore about the Rangers knocking out my Sens. That said, I'll be rooting for the West winner in the Cup final, no matter who emerges from either conference.

Thought it was only a penalty in the offensive zone, not the defensive? I caught that too, but it happens.
Then again, I'm still learning the ropes on hockey rules. Got most of it down, but still the finer points I don't know =/
Callahan got hooked on a breakaway and the refs didn't call anything there. A bit of makeup calls on both sides.
Anyway, it was a good, exciting game, even if it was 0-0 for the first 2 periods. Both teams had a lot of great looks and open rebounds in front of the net, but just couldn't capitalize.
I have no idea how Dan Giradi scored that goal. No idea whatsoever...

He scored it because the Rangers called for a partial line change at the beginning of the drive (fairly normal procedure, most of the players are surging towards the other end of the ice, gives the backend time to switch out without having too many players on the ice) and the Devils dropped the ball. It was a one player change and no one bothered to cover him because he was leaving, neglecting to consider that someone else would be taking his place. Hence him being on the ice for around 4 seconds and scoring.

I was leaning more towards how it managed to go through about 5 players without being deflected at all. It was absolutely perfect, but yeah the line change is what opened him up like that. No one picked him up. Happened to the Rangers a few times too...

Re-watch it if you can, perfect pass perfect placement. Marty was looking right when he should have been looking left. If the goalie isn't aware of a line change, it matters little if the entire defensive line is aware of it because he will be looking on the wrong side of the ice. Brodeur was watching for it to be cleared to the opposite side of the rink.

Let me go on record saying that on GameFAQs, quoting when it's otherwise unambiguous what you're responding to is unnecessary and annoying. And when you do quote, you ought to cut out everything but the bit you're responding to. Don't quote an entire post unless it's really short.
