Do you have any particularly good comebacks that you thought of only once it was too late?
I had a bit of staircase wit on my dad's behalf the other day when he was telling me about how nosy his neighbors are. He had recently mowed the lawn, and a woman who lived down the block from him asked "Was that a gas or an electric mower you were using? It was so quiet, but I didn't see a cord coming out of it." I told my dad he should've responded "Was it a telescope or binoculars that you were using?"

Not really a comeback, but back on like my second or third day at my current job, the guy who would become my manager came in to interview. So he met the team, and he asked my how long I've been at the company, and I wish I'd thought to say, "Oh, about eight... AM on Monday." That'd've been a hoot.

Yes, but all I know about Whitney Houston is that (a) she was a musician, (b) she's dead, and (c) the prices of her music were briefly raised after she died.
