"I always wanted to be somebody, but now I realize I should have been more specific."
Apparently, the next time this happens will be in 105 years.

Wow, it's a speck.
The sun is huge.

Willis, it seems like every other time you post, I need to look up a word that's in the OED or Urban Dictionary but not both.

I've been fortunate enough to be in a good spot for both the transit and the eclipse a bit earlier. And my friend's father has some welding masks, so you can actually look and see.
It was pretty cool.

I've heard of pinholes and filtered telescopes, but welding masks? Neat!

I was at the Grand Canyon when the Eclipse came 'round, which turned out to be one of the best spots to see the annulus. They had a bunch of telescopes and NASA scientists out behind the visitors' center for the event. And that evening, since all those telescopes were still lying around, they had a star party and we could queue up to see all kinds of celestial objects. That was sweet.
---
Was it a car or a cat I saw?
Yes the mask reduces light by 14 times. One can't even see a lightbulb. But the sun sure can still be seen.

You might say the problem with the sun is that it can't be unseen.
