and/or significant other nicknames...

Jess gets a lot of "honey" but I also call her "Woods" when I'm being razzy (for example: I'm on to you Woods!), or when I'm referring to her in the third person I also call her The Jesster plenty too.

She mostly just calls me dear.

And, I'm sure I call her honey more than everything else (including her actual name) combined.

I sometimes call my SO "Cratney" because of when I was playing Sword of Mana and I only had five letters with which to name the protagonist's love interest. And with how sounds form in English usually it looked more like "Cratney," so I'd be off to one side of the room swearing at Cratney to quit screwing up and it became a Thing.

Willis, it seems like every other time you post, I need to look up a word that's in the OED or Urban Dictionary but not both.

Did I just teach William Cerbone a word that isn't a technical term? Oh my God, and it only took me a hair over a decade! What do I win?

That's doubly embarrassing, because we used to publish the journal of the society for Sherlock Holmes studies.

You know how I am with nicknames. Take Dustin for example:
Dumbsten, Dumpster, Dustbuster, Dustbuster 3000, Dubster, Dubby, Dubby Doo, Dubby Doolittle, Dub-dub-dubaroo, D-train, D-money, D-stain, etc...

So, starting with the nickname "baby" we arrive at:
Bobo, bebo, bobonaut, bobosan, beebs, beebster, boborita, chicorita bobosita etc...

I wonder if it's sad I have fewer derivations for Kelsey than for Dustin.

I really like how we got the Davis's to call out their siblings as Davis, though. "Daviiiiis!" One of our finer accomplishments.

Nikkie gets "goofball" a lot from me. in addition to the cliche "babe" and "baby" stuff.

Sometimes I'll refer to her by her last name, but she doesn't like that. Says it makes her feel like "one of the boys" when I do.

I remember having this conversation with Will about my last bf because he didn't really like terms of endearment, so Will suggested using "hon" to start because it has that neutral diner-waitress flavor. It worked out, and it typically my go-to. I haven't really have any specific ones.
