And I only realized on my way here that it's pronounces St. Lewis, not St. Louie.

While you're there, you should just go on a mad spree befriending people. Everyone I know from St. Louis is just a great dude(ette).

Also, they say you should try the meth, which they're capitol of, but don't try the meth.

Willis, it seems like every other time you post, I need to look up a word that's in the OED or Urban Dictionary but not both.

As exciting of a tourist attraction as it might seem, don't go up the Gateway Arch on a day like today (temperatures near or above 100 F). The ascent is not done in an elevator but rather in a very cramped (and most importantly, non-air conditioned) cubicle. At the least, it it's something you want to do, try to do it later in the day.

Or the morning. Early mornings are best for avoiding high temperatures. Unless the arch is closed, of course.

True. For whatever reason I was under the impression that the Arch did not open until10 a.m. or sometime thereafter, but after a brief perusal of their website, it appears they are open at 8 a.m. I have still not forgiven my relatives for choosing to go up the Arch at 3 p.m. on a 100+ degree day, nor have I forgiven the body odor of the stranger with whom I had to share one of the aforementioned cubicles.

Well, I'm here for a conference (which has been an AMAZING time so far), so the morning is out. I don't think there's any plans to go to the arch, though Saturday night is less planned. I might have done more self-exploring on Wed if my plane hadn't say on the runway for 4.5 hours.

Yesterday we toured the Busch brewery and ate at Pi Pizza. (Because we are all math teachers, duh.) today's plan is either a Cardinals game (not for me) or the City Museum, which looks fun.
