Summer's half over and I haven't finished a game yet.

Well, that's almost half true. After stopping for a really long time, I'm finally in the last area of FFXIII, which is easily the longest slog of a game I've played in a long time. I don't think it deserves all of the flak that it gets, but I definitely have my fair share of criticisms, mostly about how some of the later dungeons are so obviously built for level grinding on purpose and they even mention it as part of the plot.

But after that, I could either pick back up Pokemon White, which I left off right after the second gym because I kept getting killed even in random battles, or perhaps even pick up The Thousand Year Door, which I stopped playing when my save got erased about a third of the way through several years ago and I never looked back. Asking which game I should play here would lead to an obvious winner, so I'll hold that question for now.

However, I have been wanting to replay Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations, as I've only played through it once and I think it would be a good game to play again, unlike the first one and Justice for All, both of which I've played several times, and Apollo Justice, which I think one playthrough was enough. I haven't played Ace Attorney Investigations, though, which might also be a good option.

I just don't have the time for games that I used to, I guess. Which is good, since it means I'm doing other things, but sometimes a guy needs a little game time!

Huh. I haven't either. Well, I finished the Wallace and Gromit game on my iPad the second day of summer, but nothing since. I've read a lot of books, though. And I just ordered some games from Amazon, as I was intending to take this week as a "do nothing but read, play games, and eat" week, since I realized I haven't had one and need the relaxing. They should arrive today.

I beat Journey, but otherwise I've just been playing Burnout Paradise on and off. Oh and I started Mass Effect 3.

I'd also recommend Pokemon White over TTYD. You can play outside!

Beaten any games? No. I'm REALLY close to beating Tales of Symphonia 2, which is decent...but brutal if you're as huge a fan of the original as I am.

I just started up a new Pokemon Diamond file, since it's the newest version that I own. Been playing that pretty solidly for about a week or so.

I was playing through Super Mario Galaxy for a bit too before I switched off to ToS. That's another one I'm almost done with too...

Been thinking about picking up either Pokemon Black or Tales of Graces F, but that's a decision I'll make whenever I decide to cash my paycheck.

In things I've actually finished, I read all of A Game of Thrones during my time in Italy and the first week back home. Haven't started A Clash of Kinds yet.

Why would you say ToS2 is brutal? (Haven't played it, but am a fan of the first one.)

Plot was written by a twelve year old girl. Different voice actors (only Collette has the same one). The game wasn't approved by one of the unions, so some of the pronunciations are really screwed up.

The battle system is fun, and the idea of having monsters is pretty fun too. But the plot...ugh. It's not that it's terrible, it's just like...bad fanfiction...like...the head writer let his daughter write a sequel and spellechecked it or something...

On it's own, totally a decent and playable game, but when you try and tie it to the original...well, it's kinda disappointing =/

With a review like that, if I were still in college, I would still play it. But nowadays, time to remove it from the ol' wishlist.

If you like Super Mario Galaxy, then it's definitely worth picking up the sequel. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is ridiculously fun and very challenging.

I beat Kid Icarus: Uprising. Good game, despite the awkward controls. Other than that, no.

I beat much of Skyrim. Not like all of it. But much of it.

Willis, it seems like every other time you post, I need to look up a word that's in the OED or Urban Dictionary but not both.

I've been in the middle of Kid Icarus for a while. I like it, but yes, the awkward controls make it hard to play.

Jace, I would still leave it on. I'm just a ToS fanboy and a bit brutal with what I said. If there's one thing the game does pretty well, it's the character development, which takes away from the questionable plot.

This review goes a bit more into it, and I'd say is pretty accurate about what it says.

Give it a read and see what you think. It's also shorter than a typical Tales game, so you won't be putting over 60+ hours onto it.

I've already got Super Mario Galaxy 2, just waiting to beat the original before I pop it open. It's more challenging than the original? That's good, I found the first one pretty easy overall.
