Just finished the first castle. I broke sequence horribly and ended up with late game equipment really really early, so I was like "dude c'mon now" and then I went and did it again in the new castle and I'm getting my ass handed to me. It's those women what spring out of plants, is what it is.
Anihoo, now that I've under mysterious circumstances acquired a PSX for the first time in my life, what are some games I can pick up inexpensively on the secondary market? You know. Secondarily.

I never really had a ton of games for that. Megaman Legends and Metal Gear Solid were big favorites. I think about playing Megaman Legends all the time. I like that game.

Legend of Dragoon, Tales of Destiny 1 & 2, FF9, Spyro 1 & 2, Chronocross of the top of my head are all great games. I'll add some more as I think of them.

I second MGS and FF9. Amusing story about FF9--my youngest sister loves that game so much, that she once tried to transcribe all dialog in the main story (i.e. not stuff from talking to NPCs and such). I can't remember quite how far she got before quitting (though she swear's she'll finish some day), but she has hundreds of pages of handwritten dialog.

I'm proud of everyone's taste in good classic games. Reminds me of my childhood...
That said, get MGS, Megaman Legends 1 & 2, FFVII and VIII (never played IX), Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Cross, the Spyro games, and the Crash Bandicoot games. If you like Megaman, X4 and X5 are good games. If you want any slightly less mainstream games, I recommend Brave Fencer Musashi, Jade Cocoon, and Parasite Even. Also, whatever you do, DEFINITELY get Parappa the Rapper. Can't go wrong with that.
