It's funny how people procrastinate about tax returns despite that juicy refund.

It comes to show how money isn't as powerful a motivator as it's supposed to be.

I do them as soon as I can.

Yeah. I was under the impression (when I had my first job) that the IRS waited until April to mail the checks anyway, so I used to wait, but knowing what I know now, the hell with that.

I don't get a juicy refund, so I wait. Usually I wait until March, when I get my stipend, which almost entirely goes towards my taxes.

Really? Do they not take taxes out throughout the year or something?

Yeah. They do from my salary, but my Math for America stipend is untaxed. I supposed technically I should voluntarily pay taxes on it throughout the year.

I'm excited to get my juicy refund, but I have a feeling most of it will be going toward car repairs and new tires.

Just got done filing (free file starts Jan 31st -- this was the first available weekend so I'm still calling it "as soon as I can"). Getting $4620 back this year. Helllllls yes.

According to current estimates, while still no refund, my tax payment may be about $1000 less than previous years (according to rough TurboTax estimates). Which is nice!

This is a watershed moment in how old and boring we are.

I, as an aside, cannot file my taxes yet because I'm waiting for a W2 for my small business which I assume I get. I guess I just don't know about it.

I only just got the last of my refunds on Monday. Gosh-darned delays.

My family likes to file all at the same time, so we finally filed today. I stand to get back about $1100, which incidentally should cover the cost of new tires and repairs for my car. Awesome, sort of.
