I went to see Super 8 the other day with my boyfriend. First, we get there and someone is, like, watching their Tivo or something on the screen instead of the movie. Something about Sondheim, it had NPH, I dunno.
So we finally get someone to fix that, and they start the movie. In the previews, they show the Breaking Dawn preview twice, almost back to back, which is just terrible. Then, about 10 minutes into the movie, the projector breaks. We're sitting in the dark for about 20 minutes, then, trying to get someone to help (people go out, etc).
Eventually a lady comes in, apologizes, gives us all passes for a free movie, and invites us to go to the next showing, which is the IMax at 7, for no extra charge. And gives us passes for popcorn/drinks. My bf and I had to rush to get dinner before then, 'cause it was a 515 showing and we were originally gonna eat after, we got those passes at 610. And we got back by 705 and had to sit through 30 minutes of previews. Which, I guess, proves that IMAX gets more previews. Absurd!
But, in the end, I guess it worked out, IMax for no extra cost and now we get another free movie date night.
