Everybody deserves a vigorous defense, but guy sounds kinda douchey. Then again that may be his personal sacrifice to justice (the public appearance of d-baggery so that the indefensible can have defending?).

But probably not it seems like.

How about the absolute evil bit? I think I can buy that there's no such thing as a purely evil person.
