He was referring to Donkey Kong Country, which was published in 1994.
I never had an SNES, but I played Donkey Kong Land 2, which is essentially Donkey Kong Country 2 in black and white. Good times.

I am not, in fact, referring to Donkey Kong Country. I am referring to the game Donkey Kong, but specifically the version published in 94, hence the common moniker of Donkey Kong '94.
