I never would have noticed that Moblin spears are almost like designed to be effective against Darknuts. Kind of an interesting dynamic there...

I dunno. I generally have a hard time with single player games, and even harder time if they are on console. I enjoy them, I just can't seem to get the juice in me to do it.

What are the requirements of a sword-minimal run?
Interesting how one would be impossible for Skyward Sword, and it's so sword-heavy.

Well, the requirements are that I try really really hard to make it a swordless run, and only proceed with the sword if I've exhausted all my other options. And there are a few points in that game where that happens. I'm slowly figuring it out, though -- I managed to get through the first dungeon completely swordless, and most of the second dungeon (but there doesn't seem to be any other way to hurt the mini-boss).

I know of a few computer games in which violence is normal but it's possible to beat the game without it: Tomb of the TaskMaker, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Geneforge. It's hard to think of a Nintendo game that qualifies, despite Nintendo's cute-and-fluffy reputation.

Oh, it's hardly non-violent. I go like all out with bows, bombs, boomerang, even all the sticks and swords enemies drop. Just not Link's regular sword.
