Anybody else put on weight?

When I graduated high school I was 50 pounds lighter (and no less tall) than I am today. I'm still not fat -- 50 pounds doesn't go that far on my frame and I'd been skinny before anyway -- but I now have a belly and I pretty much hate that.

Graduate -> get desk job > get fat

I was stuck at 115 pounds for many years. I think I've gotten heavier than that, but certainly still not all the way to 130.

I gained a lot of weight right after graduating college due to my job as a in-dorm counselor for a high school program I was working for at my college. I had to be up before all if the students and do night checks on them before going to sleep, so I'd average maybe 4-5 hours of sleep at best after being out and about all day. Combined with that, all of the meals were provided by the campus' dorms, which all combined into me gaining a fair amount of weight.

And then after that I moved back home and under the influence of parents and relatives that always believe their kids are skinny. I haven't been skinny since I was maybe 8 or 9.

In the last couple years, mostly thanks to starting dancing, I've kept most of that extra weight at bay. I'm not in shape by any stretch of the imagination, but I have gotten closer to the college days where I was at least reasonably active.

5'8" and 132 lbs right now. That's about 10 down from my highschool days, eight years ago. However, at the end of my NPS term in Nevada I was 145. I quickly dropped to 135 when I went back to work at the nature center, down to 128 when France was all said and done, and now I'm back up to 132.

After leaving college and living in an unhealthy relationship was probably my max weight. Then I moved in with some friends who ate healthily, we cooked all the time, and I bought Wii Fit, and I dropped a lot. I bottomed out while in grad school, right before I started student teaching.

But ever since I started teaching, it's been an inexorable climb back upwards, until I am very close to where I was when I started measuring. When I teach, I just have so little time for anything else. Especially because I find the morning to be the best time to exercise (before I shower), but also the best time to lesson plan and grade.

Yep, all too easy to find other things to do. I don't really have gym time so I have just started eating less food.

When I graduated college, I was up 20 pounds from when I graduated high school, maybe a little bit more. Fortunately, I didn't have any sort of job taking up all my time, so I started running and cooking at home more, and lost most of what I had gained.

A few of those pounds have certainly come back though, because exercising regularly is apparently kinda difficult. And Chipotle is amazing.

My roommates keep buying donuts and alcohol. So like right now I just had roommate wine, which is making me fat.

Willis, it seems like every other time you post, I need to look up a word that's in the OED or Urban Dictionary but not both.

Well, I've lost 5 lbs since this post. That's gotta be something, right?

I end up walking ca. 3 miles to/from work so I'm hoping that along with a conscious effort to eat more vegetables kicks in.

Because it's kind of miserable, and the least all that misery can do is get me ready for beach season.

I've officially decided that this scale is broken. I weigh 10 lbs more after my workout today, than I did before it.

I'm still at the same height and weight I've been at since I was 19. 6'2" @ 210 lbs. Never really fluctuates.

That's crazy man. I can only wish.

I'd ask your secret, but I bet it's exercise and going easy on stuff that's terrible for you.

Mainly it's just because I'm very active. I don't sit around much at all and most days I only eat a bagel and coffee for breakfast and whatever the wife makes for dinner.

I did a long run on the beach on Sunday.

My legs still hurt.
