Went to the beach today, which I needed, but I was very sloppy with my sunblock application.

I hate sunscreen so much that I use an ultraviolet-resistant umbrella instead. Today, a preacher made fun of it as I was walking across campus. Or at least I think that's what he was doing. I was walking past him as quickly as possible, so I didn't hear him very well. He said something like "And this guy has a real sense of style. He has an umbrella to protect him from the sun, a parasol…" and then "…a load of BS…", although maybe he was talking about something else. He appears to practice a stream-of-consciousness style of preaching. Did I mention that he's running for mayor?

Okay, so I've been meaning to ask; this is literal albinism?

'Cause then that's kinda dick.

Yes, it's the real deal, and it ain't good. Albinism so severe as to entail red eyes and platinum hair is uncommon even among albinos, and it's not that bad in my case, but I'm legally blind and I sunburn easily and all that jazz. As for my appearance, I have very pale skin, murky blue eyes, and dirty-blond hair.

I was sitting in the sun for a few hours during graduation the other day. My body was completely covered by my gown, but my face was exposed and I wasn't wearing sunscreen. I got burned, but what's worse, my cap provided shade to my forehead, and my facial hair covered my beard region. So after shaving, I have one wide red streak from ear to ear and nowhere else.

I revel a bit in my olive skin, but I have been applying sunscreen much more often than I did in childhood.
