No video game has changed the course of my life so dramatically as Paper Mario, but most of that is because that's the game I happened to be playing when I decided to look into the GameFAQs forums.

Hmm...I'd say that Paper Mario was a big one.

But can you believe that once upon a time, when I didn't have an N64, I got so incredibly bored that I went on GameFAQs and read the Ocarina of Time walkthrough the entire way through, just so I knew what happened in the game? Not that that really changed me or anything. I was just really bored.

I've done stuff like that so much, actually, that I think it's fair to say I like reading about video games more than I like playing them.

On-topic, Inform was what got me into programming, so I guess the few text adventures I played ended up having a big impact on me.

That's only vaguely worse than watching an LP, which I've done.

But yeah, I hadn't thought of PMS in terms of Paper Mario. I guess in retrospect, in some small way I owe a chunk of my identity to a video game.
