PMS, help me plan a trip.

My family wants to do a road trip down to Georgia and back (to New Jersey) this August. We've got about 6 days, which they say they can fill with interesting activities, but they're not sure what. So, PMS, I'd be grateful if you could:

1. Suggest interesting things to do around the Southern Atlantic States. Our current city destinations are Atlanta and Savannah, but anywhere in that area back might qualify if there's enough to do there to fill a day. Charleston looks decent.

Or, preferably,

2. Help me plan an even better trip in a more northernly direction. Maybe up to Montreal, across to Toronto, down back home. The major disadvantage is, we've been that way before a couple of times and the scenery will likely be similar to stuff we've seen before (not that the South won't -- I don't think they really have any sort of nature that isn't just like we have up here but hotter. Except for swamps). The major advantage of going north, of course, is that it is August and we get to not die of heat stroke. In fact, we can stop by Vermont and get ice cream. Still, I'd need enough interesting things to do up there to justify the direction.

Any recommendations?

If you family is into bouldering (A kind of rock climbing) Then I suggest you stop at The Devils Marble Yard which is a truly magnificent site to enjoy and see. That's near Lynchburg VA

I think I can help here, you know, since I LIVE in Atlanta.

There's a lot you can do in this city. Here are the main tourist attractions:

1. The Georgia Aquarium
2. Underground Atlanta
3. World of Coca-Cola
4. Zoo Atlanta
5. Six Flags Over Georgia
6. Six Flags White Water
7. Atlanta Botanical Garden
8. CNN Studios
9. Centennial Olympic Park
10. Stone Mountain Park

Google any of those to see what you'd like best!

In my experience, Toronto is just New York without all the stuff (I stole that from somewhere) so if you're craving diversity, you're probably better off with the south. Really, it seems like Upstate New York and southeast Canada just bleed into one another without a ton of differentiation.

Of more useful data, I have really fond memories of the log cabin Abraham Lincoln was born in, somewhere in Kentucky. The whole area is now uninhabited, so it's just beautiful deciduous forest and then some log cabin. I dunno, it might be cool if you're into history from the last 200 years.

Y'know I've made that exact same observation. That must mean it's true, it's all true.
