Evan: I'm just drilling holes. Last two weeks, **** it.
My roommates and I played a good share of Catan during our final months as students. In fact, we played so much that one roomy hand carved his own board and pieces, then went on to code a database for our stats. Our greatest finding was probably that the stereotypical stoner roommate did far worse than everyone else.
So don't do drugs. Or at least don't do drugs and place on a coastal 11 wool. Jeez.

Though I have a few friends that are diehard (board) gamers, and Catan is anathema to them. They won't even acknowledge it. Their complaint has something to do with the fact that the progression of the game relies so heavily on dice roles.

But because it's two dice, the rolls are more predictable in their probabilities. It's no worse than the hundreds of other games that use dice.

I have never played Settlers of Catan but I do like Stratego. I'm horrible at it, though.
