One can only characterize him or her as one of those brave souls who diligently put things other people made on popular sites, motivated only by a selfless desire to share enjoyment, and by Internet points.

Judging by the ubiquity of "Share" buttons, web designers think that everybody is a Sonixrulerz.

I always imagine people like Sonixrulerz (that is, those who post fairly popular songs and not songs so obscure as to not have been posted on YouTube by a record label) to be a rabid fanboy/fangirl, probably under the age of 18, and almost certainly the proud owner of a very glittery Tumblr/Instagram/MySpace/Whatever else the kids have these days. Love the Thrice song, btw.

I'm actually not a *huge* Thrice fan outside of Vheissu and a couple of songgs off Alchemy Index. But my evening commute is slightly longer than an album, so I usually find myself getting off the train and with ~5 minutes of walking to fill up with music (because God forbid any of us should stop consuming media for even a moment), and Earth has a couple of really good "walking home at the end of the day" tracks.

Another example is this one, if you time it so that it starts right as you walk out the doors (and which I put on just now for the sake of verisimilitude. Metal verisimilitude):

Went to the International Championship of Collegiate A Capella last weekend to support my sister's group, who had made the quarterfinals. Unfortunately, her group didn't place. But, I did learn that she can beatbox really well, which I was completely surprised by.

Yeah that song was pretty much everything I wanted in a song like that. All at once. It was like going to one of those froyo places and getting every topping that appeals remotely to you. It was what I believe Robert Fripp referred to as "larks' tongues in aspic."

23 minutes in, and so far I'm impressed! This song blows my mind! Technically the longest single track I've heard was "Art of Life" by X Japan, but that song alone makes up the whole album. This album-song is just phenomenal, and it's not even the guy's longest-ever-recorded song!!! :o

Yeah Mike Oldfield is my "I need to stay awake while commuting but I've been drinking/awake too long to read the kind of book I'd own" music. Glad you liked though! That one (and maybe the collective Tubular Bells albums) is probably my favorite, counting/not counting a weird synth-pop phase in the 80s. (Kind of like King Crimson, in that respect. Like this song, which I'm listening to right now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CJ6TriAsBE except Mike Oldfield's is much weirder and synth-poppier.)

And the best part is that the guy himself *hates* his early record label, so you can listen to it on YouTube or other non-paying systems and it's intellectually consistent with most systems of morality.

Honestly, the more I listen to the NFP version, I like the NS one more.

Having listened to the long awaited The 20/20 Experience by Justin Timberlake, I find myself sort of whelmed. I want to like it so bad, but it's been really middling for me so far. Gonna give it a few more runs and see if my taste for it clears up.

Mirrors is a great song and I recommend everyone give it a shot.

LP, I LOVE the piano in that first song!!! I might teach it to myself later. :D

Willis, I'm not sure if I posted "In the Name of God" but it's by far my favorite Dream Theater song, so I'd try that. If it's the singer you don't like, I suggest looking into the drummer (Mike Portnoy's) side project, Liquid Tension Experiment, which is more or less Dream Theater gone instrumental.

^--One of my favorite bands, their second album was only released in Europe and I *could* *not* find a copy through any legal or extralegal channels. Eventually I bought a copy on eBay from a Dutch guy who canceled the transaction and when pressed explained that he had dropped a thing on the disc and it was no longer in salable condition.

Later I purchased the thing from another Dutch guy and now I own a copy of this album. I can't tell whether I'm crazy but the mix sounds *way* the hell better than their third album. Like I'm wondering whether the American release is plagued with having to sound like a technopop club standard.
