On the subject of finance, in continuing celebration of how old and boring we are: I have a credit card with 1% cash back. But I can't redeem the cash back by applying it against my balance or having it transferred to a bank account. I have to file a request for the company to mail me a check. The only explanation I can think of for such a roundabout process is that the inconvenience is supposed to discourage redemption, like for mail-in rebates.

But some rewards programs are pretty legit. My dad got a real nice iHome with rechargeable battery. It's from a local bank though, nothing national (or even regional).

I cashed in rewards points for the very first time to help me buy my 3DS XL. Got a $100 gift card to Best Buy and ended up spending only $70 on a 3DS XL + Mario Kart 7 bundle. Awesome.
But my rewards system is pretty crappy and I've been looking into getting a better credit card.

Yeah it's because they found out that 3% of people will lose the check or something.

Willis, it seems like every other time you post, I need to look up a word that's in the OED or Urban Dictionary but not both.

James, that is relevant to my interests. May I ask the name of the card?
