Great game, great visual storytelling, and I highly, highly recommend it for anyone and everyone. Despite it not being a game about a singer in a smoky room.

I beat it in an hour at a friend's place back around Christmas. Really cool. I just ended up picking the "final" level by mere chance. Had one guy with me the whole way for it too. It was pretty awesome.

I was at my friend's place and I went through it, happened to progress through all of the levels by chance. I didn't really know what to expect for it. I had a total of eight partners through the game, though I stuck with the same partner through most of the last three areas.
Heavy, heavy spoilers for the ending to Journey:
Going through the "underwater" area" was genuinely terrifying with the giant mechanical dragons. I thought I was going into an area I wasn't supposed to and it was the game's way of telling me I was out of bounds. And then it attacked me. I think I only got struck twice, though.
And then when they reappeared later on in the snow areas, I'd already been with the same partner for quite some time and we would hop around trying to avoid them, but the dragons would narrowly miss me and attack my partner instead. My partner got attacked twice- the second time they tried taking shelter in the remains of the dragons on the ground, but the attacking dragon smashed through the cover and sent my partner flying what seemed like hundreds of feet away. I ran up to them while using the call button. In my head the whole time it was like, "NOOOOO MY HOMIE!!" It was weird feeling such a connection to a person that I'd only been playing the game with for about an hour, but it was really great.
Had the game ended when my partner and I died at the mountaintop, I would have been completely satisfied with the result. The storytelling was completely wordless but the experience spoke volumes. And then the final level appeared and we're soaring up above the mountaintops... but I lost my partner because I took a wrong turn. That was a sad day. But overall, a great experience. I'd totally play it again. I thought it would be more of a puzzle platformer due to the way the first couple of levels handled, but it really was a good mix of different things.
