I feel like I probably made this topic for the past two years, but the upstairs of my apartment gets super-hot, a good 10 degrees (at least) hotter than the downstairs. It also doesn't have a window I'd open, because the window has no screen and bugs are viscous.

Well, the window is weird and opens sideways, so I'm not sure about the pop-up screen.

I was going to comment on "viscous" but I already have a reputation for being a pedantic grammar Nazi and somehow don't make it look as good as Wil does.
My old apartment was like this. There was a very defined line you would hit going up the stairs where you could feel the heat had infiltrated and collected like a giant humid cloud. The first time I experienced it, I thought someone had taken a long shower and the heat and humidity buildup was from that. Turns out it was just poor ventilation and insulation.
