I already have an iPad 2. I'm not sure of the best way to make use of both devices. I mean, the Mini is smaller and easier to carry around, plus is more up-to-date than my normal iPad, with newer features. But I have adapters for my old iPad to connect to my TV and to my projector in my classroom, which is useful. And I'm not completely sold on the size of the mini, when I have a smartphone. (However, the retina display does make up for the smaller size somewhat.)

I have a phone, a laptop, a desktop (in my office), and a VPS, and that feels like more than enough devices. None of this tablet nonsense.

I don't have a laptop (and didn't have a smartphone when I first got it), so the iPad was a pretty good choice at the time. Plus it lets me bypass the school network when I need to, but with something stronger than a phone.

Yeah, I can't imagine wanting something that is between iPhone size and iPad size, honestly. Who exactly makes up that market?
I mean, it is lighter. I could fit it in my coat pocket and thus not need a bag. Not very convincing, though.

My sister got an iPad mini because it was cheaper, and because it fit in her purse rather nicely.

Willis, it seems like every other time you post, I need to look up a word that's in the OED or Urban Dictionary but not both.

Apple is kinda struggling in the New Product Development field since Jobbs passed away. The Mini was the best they could come up with, at the time, I guess.
Though it does kinda follow their corporate strategy anyway, and people still bought it, so what am I to say?

I believe the term of art is "a solution looking for a problem".
