Promotions are weird

When someone is really good at their job, they are promoted, which means giving them a different job, not the one they were good at. If they are good at this new job, they are promoted again, and so on, moving up the chain of jobs until they hit one that they are not good at, merely okay. And then that's the job they stay at. Not a job they are good at.

We have a saying here that's a joke but it's true too... "you are promoted one step above your highest level of competence".
