Even though I am looking to leave, I am not looking fervently enough to burn bridges by skipping out for an interview. Plus my innate sense of loyalty would prevent me anyway. And even beyond all that, there's the fact that my students need to pass their exams! This makes it very difficult to interview.

Are you staying in the same industry? Because then you'd think that they'd get it.

Willis, it seems like every other time you post, I need to look up a word that's in the OED or Urban Dictionary but not both.

What makes even less sense to me is why they would schedule interviews during school hours.
Any chance you can get it during lunch, and have a sub cover you for a period or two?

My understanding is that the usual protocol for when you have an interview is that you make up an excuse for why you can't show up to work. Like, a dentist appointment. I can see why this wouldn't work as well in education, where there are high (arguably unrealistic) expectations of availability.

Yes, it's still at school. Though I suppose my school does end later than most, which is problematic. If I ended at 3 instead of 345 I could get places earlier.
One school wants me to come in on Thursday at 11, but that's a student-free day, so I might actually skip work for it.

In job related news, I just decided to stay at my current job. Simultaneously dealing with the co-op adventure as well as my boyfriend going insane from his PhD defense and job search was too much.

Oh, that's appropriate. What topics does he study? Or at least, what's his thesis about?

The hyperbolic plane is a 747 that says it can fly a million miles an hour.
Props to HeyDude for posting something I can relate to.
