Exactly. The French count the days of each month starting from -9, so our July 14th is their July 4th. The French sure are weird, aren't they?

I always wondered what that was, but not like, enough to look it up on Wikipedia.

The White Stripes claimed to have been founded on Bastille Day, but that was just another piece of deliberate mythology by the band -- it ain't true.
