Like, based on the boards, I expect that, but the main page? Then again, if I need an FAQ for something, I usually go straight from Google, not from the gameFAQs home page, so who is really seeing the main page?

That's about right, eh? I think I recall the old motto of GameFAQs... "where the men are men, and the women are men, too!"

Just think about PMS. The only girl here is nala. We used to have Kate (who does admittedly come by once in a while) and Cheez (who rage quit) but that meshes pretty well with the expected outcome.

However, yeah, I agree with the sentiment that the main page would probably have yielded more girls than the boards...

I think the last time they did it, it was like 70/30. Still a high ratio, but something a bit more...reasonable I guess.

I wonder if part of it is that the front page skews young (I don't often see it, for example, because I'm mostly just checking here, but time was I'd be all over the site) and the high-school-and-under crowd skews male? Well more than usual?

Or maybe that's a representative sample. A grad school friend of mine is super active in trying to get people to admit that women have nerd interests, so it might just be a warped perspective.
